What we store

AltZ.energy stores two kinds of thing on your device. One kind is required for the site to work at all. The other is analytics, and it stays off unless you allow it.

Required

• Signing in. If you sign in, Google’s authentication service stores a token that keeps you signed in as you move between pages. Without it you would be signed out on every click.
• Abuse prevention. Google reCAPTCHA checks that form submissions come from a person rather than a script. It is what keeps the contact form usable.
• Your cookie choice. The answer you give the banner is kept in your browser’s local storage, so we do not ask again on every page.

These are not optional, and we do not ask permission for them — they carry out something you asked for. Blocking them in your browser will break the parts of the site they support.

Optional: analytics

We use Google Analytics to see which pages people read and where they arrive from. It tells us that a page was visited, not who visited it. Nothing analytics-related loads until you choose “Allow analytics” on the banner, and declining loads nothing at all — there is no version of the page that quietly measures you anyway.

Where the data goes

Our servers and databases run in the United States. If you are visiting from outside the US, anything you send us — a contact form, an account, course progress — is stored there.
